The Byrds was extremely successful, in fact it was appreciated both by critics and mass media, and it was one of the most selling bands of its time. Although the stuff of the band wasn't permanent, for instance such member of the band as Gene Clark, though not being so commercially successful, issued country-rock albums which were really good.
